These sheets of ready baked sponge are a time saver when you need multiple cakes, different shaped cakes or for when your oven is just not big enough! Available in the most popular flavours, this is the most economical way to buy ready made cakes. Just cut the sizes and shapes you need from each large plain cake slab! Also great for creating traybake style desserts.
Individually boxed moist sponge cake ready for you to decorate. The 17 x 14" half slabs are sold as a pair with two layers of sponge cake in one box. Each layer is approx 1.25" deep, so two layers together will make a standard depth celebration cake. These cakes are packaged in a sturdy box to protect them during transit. For all sponge cakes - store in a cool place, but do not refrigerate. The sponge cakes can be frozen for up to 5 months to extend the life.
Please Note: This cake has a 5 week shelf life. Five week shelf life is calculated from the day of baking, not the day of delivery. We recommend that you order sponges to arrive about a week before the celebration, then decorate them in the week leading up to the wedding or party. This ensures the cake is in prime condition when served, and ought to give plenty of time to enjoy the left-overs! The shelf life given is for the undecorated cake base in the original packaging - once decorated, the life will depend on the type of fillings and icings used.
TIP: Why not keep a spare cake in the freezer ready for those last minute requests!
