How Is Chestnut Different from Brown ProGel?

A standard brown food colouring is often used for darker effects such as bark, soil or strong chocolate tones. Chestnut has a lighter and warmer finish, making it better suited to animal modelling and natural-looking sugarcraft.

Because ProGel is highly concentrated, only a small amount is needed to start building colour. This helps you control the shade gradually without adding too much liquid to your icing or paste.

How to Use Chestnut ProGel

Add a small amount of Chestnut ProGel and mix thoroughly before adding more. For fondant, sugarpaste or modelling paste, knead until the colour looks smooth and even. For buttercream, royal icing or cake batter, mix well and allow the shade to settle before adjusting.

The easy-control tube helps keep colouring neat and precise, whether you are tinting a full batch or adding colour to smaller handmade details. Chestnut pairs well with ivory icing, cream buttercream, muted seasonal colours and simple modelling tools for a soft, natural finish.
